2021 Record Store Day will again take place on separate dates. This scheme was already introduced last year due to all the circumstances . The spread of releases over 2 days in 2 months helps smaller record stores as well as distribution companies and vinyl pressing plants to coordinate their business in a more effective way.

Honouring the lifetime achievement of one of the most important figures within the genre. RSD 21 will host a special release from the album Czarface Meets Metal Face. Pressed on 3 inch vinyl featuring the cut “Meddle With Metal” and to be played on RSD3 mini-turntable. The record also comes with a collectors sleeve and poster.
Another gem to look out for will be the first vinyl pressing of the 2001 album “Blocc Movement”. Combining Brotha Lynch Hung’s highly acclaimed horrocore style with the gangster rap of C-Bo. Featuring legends of the game like Spice 1, Yukmouth, Tech N9ne and more the double LP will be pressed on clear and blue spatter vinyl.

Furthermore RBC decided to also drop the first vinyl release of the collaboration album from C-Murda & Boosie Badazz. The two well known Louisiana rappers always had the wish to do a project together, being both incarcerated in Angola – Louisiana State Penitentiary the two had enough time to get the project started. In 2016 the album came to light and will now get a double LP release pressed on clear vinyl.

Next drop is something unique. The compilation LP is in partnership with the skateboarding brand Vans and serves as a fundraiser supporting black owned record stores in the USA. The release is twelve cuts strong and features songs by artists such as Freddie Gibbs, Alchemist, Common, Lupe Fiasco, Black Thought, H.E.R. and more. Talking about Lupe Fiasco… The Chicago artist will be celebrating this year Record Store Day with two drops. The House EP is pretty much a result of the covid quarantine. Kaelin Ellis posted an instrumental on social media with the caption “get this to Lupe”. Within an hour Lupe Fiasco recorded some verses over the beat and sent it back via Twitter. After some back and fourth the two agreed to make some more music together. So 3-4 weeks later the project was released and will now exclusively be available on vinyl.
