Almost back to normal! Because of the recent circumstances, the past two Record Store Days were split on different days. However this year nearly all the records from the list will be dropped on April 23rd with only a contingency date in June in case there might be any delays in terms of vinyl pressing. BUT there is actually one pretty interesting release that will be available exclusively on the second drop in summer…
In general upcoming Record Store Day features two categories. One is called RSD First for vinyl that has never been pressed before or has a special variant. The others are RSD Exclusives for releases that are most likely only available on that day – no future reissue expected.
Return Of The Mac on wax! In the mid 2000s Mobb Deep legend Prodigy put this project together with The Alchemist. Initially those recordings were meant to be a mixtape just to keep the audience hyped until the follow-up of H.N.I.C.. However the songs were so strong that the Queensbridge legend decided to give it an official release.
So far the album was only available on CD. For this RSD 2022 the record will come inside a gatefold sleeve – pressed on opaque red vinyl.

And now for my last number.. I’d like to return to the classic!
Like mentioned in the beginning there is another drop date in June if manufacturing delays appear. This seems to be the case for this gem. Obviously supervillian…
Daniel Dumile Thompson also known as MF DOOM introduced his Viktor Vaughn persona in 2003 to the rap world. His album ‘Vaudeville Villain’ was an instant classic and is considered as one of the best developments the Hip Hop scene has ever experienced.
MF DOOM vinyl collectors now have one more reason to look forward to summer. Although it must be mentioned that the upcoming RSD drop is little bit different compared to the previous 2021 release. It is more closer to the original 2003 release because it does not contain ‘Open Mic Night, Pt. 2’ and the ‘Change The Beat’ bonus track.
However it will still be exclusive double LP housed inside a gatefold jacket only to be released on Record Store Day 2022.
