2021 Record Store Day Drop 2 is approaching! The second date will take place on July 17th and it has some exclusive Hip Hop vinyl releases to offer, available at all participating record stores.

Starting off the list with KMD (Kausing Much Damage, or a positive Kause in a Much Damaged society). The early 90’s Hip Hop group introduced Zev Love X to the culture who would later be known as MF DOOM. After the death of his brother DJ Subroc Elektra Records dropped the group from the label before the second album was even released.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of KMD’s 1991 debut Get On Down presents the groups first album  Mr. Hood as tri-color pressing double LP, never to be repeated.

Another debut to be celebrating it’s anniversary is the 1986 album by Just-Ice. For a long time out of print on vinyl this landmark will be pressed on deluxe splatter colored vinyl limited to 1000 copies, exclusively for RSD 21.

Continuing this birthday party the critically acclaimed first studio album from Brooklyn rapper Saigon will finally get it’s long awaited vinyl release. The Just Blaze produced album marks the ten year anniversary and will be pressed on solid black vinyl, limited to 1250 copies.

The eighth studio album by one of Detroit’s finest Royce Da 5’9″ is set to bring a breath of fresh air for Record Store Day – Drop 2. The record was originally released in 2020 and will also be available on vinyl for the first time. The double LP 45 RPM release comes in a wide spine jacket and will be pressed on 180g opaque gold vinyl – very limited quantity.

Also part of RSD Drops 2021 and a true highlight will be a new Czarface comic packed with an exclusive vinyl soundtrack. The 12″ book presents the cover of the release and is related to the classic Power Records series from the ‘70s. The vinyl is inserted on the last page in a simple white inner sleeve and comes in a re-closable plastic cover.

The action-packed adventure is limited to 4000 copies and will be pressed on picture disc.

For quite a while out of print is the second studio album from New York City rapper Smoke DZA. The record was originally released in 2012 and became almost unavailable over the years. It will now be reissued on on smoke-filled colored vinyl and is limited to 1200 copies.

Furthermore the Canadian Hip Hop collective Swollen Members from Vancouver, British Columbia is celebrating their 20 year anniversary as a group. Their 2010 Greatest Hits Compilation LP “Ten Years Of Turmoil” has never been released on wax. Including bonus cuts it will now be pressed on vinyl for the the first time!
