In July 2021 Gregory Skyler Taylor, also known as Skyzoo, is dropping another album named All The Brilliant Things’. According to himself one of the most complete, lyrical and poetic albums he has ever done.

Skyzoo is definately one of the most consistent artists out there rappin’ the culture. Growing up in Bedford-Stuyvesant and South Jamaica, Queens the New York City MC was heavily influenced by The Notorious B.I.G. who lived one block away and was a huge inspiration for young Skyzoo.
After the 2019 album Retropolitan, where he teamed up with legendary producer Pete Rock, the Brooklyn MC used the pandemic to prepare another classic. Due to the circumstances he was able and also forced in a way to invest a lot of time into the project. According to himself he never spend as much time on any of his previous work which is very nice to hear. Especially nowadays in a streaming world where music seems to be more about quantity and not so much about quality anymore.
Announcing the album in such an early state with just one single and the rest unknown became rare and kinda creates an oldschool vibe in its on way. Because “Bed-Stuy is Burning” is everything we got so far.

The song’s topic is gentrification and cultural thieving. The single introduces the concept of the album and was produced by Rashid Hadee featuring the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, cooking up that beautiful jazzy and soulful aspect on a nostalgic boom-bap sound. Something that can be found already on some of Skyzoo’s previous work. For example on The Bluest Note LP and also highly regarded on some of the recent songs Pete Rock produced.
